How To Build A Bedini SSG Step Two Label Magnet North Poles

This is the third article in the series on how to build a Bedini SSG (Simplified School Girl) radiant energy motor. This is a simple pulse motor that can restore lead acid batteries.

This motor has the ability to charge up multiple batteries on the charging side without drawing any more current from the input side. This is very exciting and useful.

If you missed the parts list or the first video in the series, please see them below:

How To Identify A Magnet North Pole

To identify a magnets North pole you will need a magnetic compass. An old fashioned dial compass is perfect for this.

Take one of our unknown magnets and slowly bring it closer to the compass. At one point the compass South pole will swing around and point at the magnet, if the side facing the compass is the North pole. If the North marking on the compass swings and points to the magnet then you are looking at the South pole of the magnet.

Remember opposites attract here.

So the South pole of a compass will point to the North pole of a magnet. And the North pole of a compass will point to the South pole of a magnet.

When you have identified the North pole of the first magnet, indicated with a South on the compass pointing to it, then put a big N on the magnet with a permanent marker.

I always test two magnets like this in order to ensure I am doing it right.

Now I take the rest of the stack of magnets and bring my newly labled magnets close to the stack slowly. Only do this with ceramic magnets and never with stronger magnets or you will break them.

The weaker ceramic magnets are easier to handle. When all the magnets are together, make sure the one with the N marked on it is facing outward.

Now all of your magnets are in a block together with all the North poles facing the same way.

One by one, remove a magnet from the stack and label the North poles with a permanent marker.

That is it. Now you are ready for the next step in building a Bedini SSG motor.
