I was listening to live chat show #12. Something about mosquito was said and it made me think of citronella. I looked up where it comes from. Turns out it's extracted from Lemon Grass. This is an Asian plant used for many things including Tea production. I wondered if the plant by it's self might have an effect. Google on the subject turned up this interesting website. Listed are 5 plants that various bugs, mostly mosquito hate.

Propagating these plants in the area and perhaps in pots or planters around the site and camper might take a bit of the edge off of the stinging and eye diving problem.
The site has photo's and descriptions. No need to repeat them here.
