This guy "owns" pallets with his custom pry-tool! He welded it himself from scrap steel. 8-)

Watch the vid, he burns through a single pallet with zero bending or hammering!

enjoy

Wow, I WANT one of those!!!

I spend hours with a hammer and crow bar trying to coax pallets apart. I have tons of blisters from the shock of banging and vibration. Not to mention the ringing in my ears.

Nice!!!

Dude, call all the iron fabricators in your area. Businesses that make iron window bars for instance. These are generally just small custom shops, windows bars are made to-size (custom). Get their email address and send them the vid. Ask them how much to craft one. Or you might get one of these guys that wants to make it to sell, one of his products. He might give you a discount on one for introducing him to the idea (rare).

Be prepared to pay. BUT if you tell them you're in no rush (make it whenever they have the spare time) you might get one cheaper. It's worth it. Hell, you could start making Adirondack Chairs or something else out of pallets for spare cash... once you have all the wood you need personally.

I'm sure the right people would pay about $400+ for something hand-made like this...

You're in NY after all, people spend money there. Screw breaking your back doing demolition and other construction work! craigslist

This is a very good idea. To make furniture using old pallets. I have considered this for a couple months now and am thinking more and more that it may be a good idea.

Hopefully next year when I have more time. This year was so busy getting my homestead set up. I think next year I will have a bit more free time.

I saw a similar video a while ago, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ0PYV_qnaU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in this case, he welded a couple of old hammers to the base. A good use for scrap, and probably a little less manufacturing time.

That is cool. I dont have a welder though nor the power to use one sadly. Been looking at them for a while now.

When I did offroading this was an emergency welding snapped axles in a pinch.
Find a recycling center that will let you buy them for the core price or find them free on craigslist.

I have heard of that before but you cannot really control the power at all. Its the main thing that kept me from trying it myself.

The concept of using batteries for welding, seems crazy but really attractive! I really want to give this a go some time haha. I would say thin welding rods, 2 or 3mm would be a good bet for this?
