Firewood stacking discussion

Post by OutOfPlaceNinja » Fri Feb 20, 2015 11:30 pm

So I came across a thread on another forum about wood stacking. Anyone with a wood stove may find it useful.

Maybe we could do some discussions here (and maybe show some pics of your wood pile?).

What from your experience (you, the reader of this) is the best way to stack firewood? What benefits vs drawbacks have you seen with the way you stack your firewood?

Looks like a lot of work. I have never seen it done that way.

I stack mine on pallets to keep it off the ground. Otherwise the logs on the bottom will become waterlogged and useless until you dry them out fully.

This also gives me a 4 foot wide platform to stack my wood on. I use stakes in the ground to reach the sides up higher as needed.

I will do another video in the spring when I am stacking more firewood.
