I haven't done this solar panel thing for heating. I used it for chain reaction.

First, I connect it to boiler to heat water. Hot water flows into tube then it heats the metal to surrounding.

Drawback: takes a long time to heat and sometimes, it cools down faster than it heats up.

I dont know if you are talking about heating water or air.

There are many ways to heat your home passively using the heat of the sun. I am going to build a wrap around greenhouse this fall to collect the heat from the sun during winter days and heat my house with it. Opening the windows on that side should allow the heat to enter. Maybe with a solar powered fan it will be even better, if needed.

For hot water, I have great success using a black garden hose to heat up shower water for my outdoor shower. It gets HOT in the sun very fast.

The same thing would go for a roof top system to heat your home or water for bathing.

They say even on cloudy days the more efficient panels produce hot water.
