Got me thinking. I do have a larger battery charger with a 50 amp output. I can try running the big black generator to power the battery charger at 50 amps for a while. See what happens.

But I am now starting to doubt my solar charge controller. Think back a while here.

The golf cart batteries were showing 12.2 volts. I took them into the store to be checked. Two were replaced. Batteries still at 12.2 volts. Even the new ones. No matter what I tried, they would not come up any higher.

I got the old forklift battery cells. 12.2 volts. No matter what I tried, they would not go any higher.

Switched to the new forklift battery. 12.2 volts no matter what I try.

See a pattern here?

It may be the charge controller doing something wrong.

There is no drain or ghost load or the batteries would fall even lower over night. After sun down the controller shows 12.2 volts about three hours later. Batteries at rest. Next morning they are still showing 12.2 volts

I am looking for a second charge controller that I can experiment with. It is the only part of the system I have not swapped out yet.
