I have an old boat with a 32vdc system. It is made up of two banks of four 8v batteries. These are large batteries and expensive. Can I use the Bedini charger on these? I am an ME but think I can make a charger, just not sure if the components will be the same I. Any help appreciated!

Yes, the Bedini motor should be able to restore the batteries. You did not mention the amp hours capacity of the batteries.

Never heard of 8 volt batteries before, but if they are lead acid, then they should be fine. As long as the lead has not decayed and fallen into the bottom of the battery, they can normally be restored.

I have restored anything from 6 volts to 12 volts and even 18 volt batteries.

If they have a higher AH rating, then it may take a while to restore. And do not forget to cycle between charge and discharge to get the maximum performance out of them.

Thanks! These are big starting batteries with 980 CCA. Cost about $2k for a set of 4 so this is worth giving a shot.
