Winter battery problems

Hey Troy. During the winter months I noticed that you had problems with your battery bank due to the cold. I don't know if you've solved the problem or not, but I think storing them underground in a cellar could solve that problem and give you a place to store your home grown foods too.

I have considered storing them underground but then they would be a permanent 50 degrees F. In winter this would be better than freezing but in summer its not good. My batteries are currently around 60 - 65 degrees F and happier than ever.

I just went through 6 days straight with no sun at all and my batteries are holding up nicely at 12.3 volts. Now, that is after a week of working indoors on the computer all day, every day. Not bad. My solar panels are pulling in a little bit of power I must add though but its not much due to the clouds.

Warmer batteries = happy batteries.

When I build my tiny house on wheels I will set up a battery room where they will be warmed up at all times in winter.
