Solar Panel on a car

Troy, you had a guest (manofmanythings?) out at the property the other day. I saw the 90 watt solar panel on roof of his Jeep and liked the idea. I use one of those "Volkswagen 5 watt panels" to keep my sailboat's house battery topped up when I am away. The much larger panel he has seems to a fair amount of power in a pinch.

I know a lot of people have solar on their RVs... But is there anyone else putting solar on their car/truck.

I have seen it on youtube from time to time. ManOfMany Thingz did a good, professional job of it too. He used the right equipment to mount it through the roof.

I think its a good idea if all you have is a bug out vehicle. My survival camper has solar panels, but they get put inside for travel to protect them. Mine are movable to I can get the maximum sunlight.

I had a 15 watt solar panel I used to recharge a low battery on my mini van before, But I never mounted it on the roof. So now I just carry around a 1,000 watt mini gas generator like troy has with the exception that mine also has a 8.3 amp 12 volt out plug to charge batteries with. And it work perfectly Coleman 1,000 watt portable generator HERE IS THE LINK :
