Here is another version of the bucket trap, a bit easier to make.

More effective if the peanut butter/bait is smeared just along the edge of the disc so the mouse have to fully commit to get at it.

This version is unproven but looks quicker to make.

Controlling Vermin!

Not the two legged vermin, that's a different thread. Nasty, disgusting mice! Destroying your food and stinking the place up! Plus disease, fleas and property damage! Poison and glue traps cost money and the stores to resupply them might even be gone. Cats are not always effective either, poor kitty...

Simple Thermoelectric Generator

This looks to be an interesting option for adding charging to battery banks in the winter! Either by using the COLD or just mounting it to a wood stove or other heater.

I think the pool wall is fine until there is a breech in the enamel/paint/protective coating. When used as a pool the risk of it being chipped or damaged is nil, but when re-purposed, well you see what I mean. Now that I think about it the cinder blocks around the base plus STAKING it every few feet...
