Re: Compost heat
There is a ton of heat in compost. I've seen the inside of piles forming ash. It can be so hot you wouldn't want to touch it. It would require a lot of materials, leaves and especially grass clippings. A black tank on the roof through the winter or something connected to the wood burner might be sim...

Re: Bio Gas - Free Gas Fuel
Very cool. I hadn't found anything to watch this evening and that should fill up the time quite well. Other issues, if your not containing it in a pressure vessel, then there has to be an overflow for unused gas. Does it rise, settle in low spots? Also, Troy's fridge requires gas under pressure to r...

Re: Bio Gas - Free Gas Fuel
I've seen specials where people cook over what looks like a contained cesspool. I think you could do it, however, pressurizing and storing the gas would need to be accomplished to make it really useful. Otherwise, It's probably simpler and safer to cook over wood. And, what would it smell like? If i...

Chickens - Light and Tractors
Troy, you havn't mentioned the light in the chicken coupe. They are going to become a consumer of energy. They need extened daylight to lay every day. If you miss a day, they molt, no eggs for a while. Also, check out the chicken tractor. You can move them every day if you want and keep refreshing t...

Re: +70% efficiency hot water??
Over unity? Nearly all these people are scamming for investment dollars (or dreaming to do so). Nearly all scams share the characteristic of involving something not easy to fully understand. If you did understand it, it wouldn't' be a very effective scam. Likewise, if something is the best investmen...

Re: Home made Air Conditioner
I was involved in building an AC unit for a houseboat that worked off the lake. I did many tests to determine the optimum depth to pick up cold water, what the temperature was there, how much cold was lost on the way up the hose and etc.... I owned the boat with a friend who was an engineer. Before ...
