Did you happen to have one?
I want to get in my garage myself. I was thinking about making a remote controller for the opening and closing of my gate. Any idea?

Re: Tick replellent
Troy - from the videos you seem to have a lot of problems with ticks. I read a few different offgrid / forum places and someone said this works a treat to keep the ticks off. Being in the UK I couldn't tell you if it works or not, I don't have many deers wondering through my garden :) Anyway, here ...
Re: Arduino
I didn't know you could do it either - if you are interested, I first saw it here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Turning-an-old-webcam-into-a-Night-vision-cam/ Only downside I have read about is the webcam is a bit over exposed in daylight. I will have to look into setting this up, last night I h...

Re: Link for cheap usfull stuff
I have gone to this place a lot! It has a lot of useful stuff. You will be surprised! I didn't even have to pay S&H or tax for any of it either! Be carful though. You want to check out under the us ware house. Otherwise it will come straight from china! LOL! I made that mistake the first time. took...
Re: Christmas
Troy, I just watched your solar panel video. I mean the 13 watt traveling one. I thought it would be nice to have it as a Christmas gift.
I mean, yeah it is.

Re: Refridgeration
Troy, I also made a comment about this on YouTube, but since you moved over here I'll ask again. Now that spring and soon to be summer what are your thoughts on refrigeration? I know you have had some really nasty luck with this in the past. I'd also like to say good work on the tiny house. I have ...

Re: How big of a setup do I need
Wow, I just noticed that techman == Troy. Which means that I am talking to THE man himself :ugeek: Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :) So, here's my challenge. A 145w LED TV which is usually powered on for ~7 hours during weekdays and 12/14 hours on weekend days. The TV will be mainly sucking pow...

Re: Solar tracker?
Just curious if you have ever considered a solar tracking setup where your panels could be mounted on a post? I have seen circuits using a small 12 volt actuator rather than a motor to turn the panels. I know you have shaded areas to contend with. It may be hard to build such a setup without access...
