Re: Tesla Powerwall

Thank you. Yes just experiment with what you have and learn until you manage to find a nice home. I have a website on the Bedini motor here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/ssg-battery-restorer.php And I wrote a book on how to make your own solar panels: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/TheDIYWorl...

Re: Tesla Powerwall

Thanks for the reply, Troy. You're living our dream, because we'd love to go off grid. But it's gotta be rough on you too. Winters must be real tough and you have to chop trees for fireplace wood and the wind destroys your windmill towers. And in the end you still find time to deliver inspiring vide...

Tesla Powerwall

Greetings. Even though I've registered for some time already I still haven't ventured on a solar+battery project. I have several reasons why I still haven't tried it: 1-I live on a flat of a tall building and aside from 1 balcony I don't have a place for the solar panels. 2-My knowledge on electrici...

Re: How big of a setup do I need

Thanks for your reply. I actually don't need to go completely off-grid. But with this economic crisis I surely would be glad if I could save some money. Let me check if I got everything straight. I will need: - PV solar panels (the more the merrier) - power inverter - batteries (optional) - charge c...

Re: How big of a setup do I need

Wow, I just noticed that techman == Troy. Which means that I am talking to THE man himself :ugeek: Thanks for sharing your knowledge. :) So, here's my challenge. A 145w LED TV which is usually powered on for ~7 hours during weekdays and 12/14 hours on weekend days. The TV will be mainly sucking powe...

Re: How big of a setup do I need

My last bill (December) was 248KWh. Since December has 31 days, that gives around 8KWh/day which multiplied by 3 gives 24KWh on panels only. Now, how about batteries? How much (rough estimate) would such a setup cost? BTW, most my lighting is already LED and the 2 TV's too. Oh, and how about startin...

Re: How big of a setup do I need

Hi there. I know this is a sort of an old topic but I thought I might go ahead and recycle it if everybody is ok with that. My current power account averages 65€/month which means I am paying a total of 780€/year. Also from what's been discussed here I know that this setup is worth 5000$ but without...
