Mosquito Funerary

Troy, ran across a cool video for eliminating thousands of Mosquito's. The main ingredients are simple, a fan and some screen material. The fans in use here are a bit energy hungry. However, it looks like it could be made to work off grid with a variety of units. http://youtu.be/pU2kbghz85I" onclick...

Planting Away The Bugs

I was listening to live chat show #12. Something about mosquito was said and it made me think of citronella. I looked up where it comes from. Turns out it's extracted from Lemon Grass. This is an Asian plant used for many things including Tea production. I wondered if the plant by it's self might ha...

Free fuel from the Off Grid Motor Home

Troy, Don't give that old fuel away. Here is how to use it up. I've used this procedure several times in my life and it's always worked fine. First we need to get it out. Siphon it carefully into 5 gallon cans. If there is an anti- siphon device, remove the rubber hose from the fill neck and stick y...

Re: Having a nice hot shower at the Off Grid Camper

Hi guys, .... I removed the old electric hot water heater. It was defective and you could never run it off solar. Pulls too many amps. ..... Troy, I just went through most of the physics of what it is possible, why it does not pull too many amps (if you use the correct parts) and how the energy nee...

Cicada Apocalypse

Troy,

I read that it's time for the Cicada's to emerge. I read the average person inadvertently swallows 2.3 of them per night. Do you need some caulking? How do you plan to survive the Cicada Apocalypse? Do you have any Cicada recipes?

Your Black and Decker Battery Tool Set

Troy, I have the same tool set you have, drill-driver, circular saw & jig saw. I have both the 14.4v and 18v sets. I stumbled across a yard sale and purchased another drill, charger and some more batteries but most especially, a good working 14.4v reciprocating saw to match my set. These are AMAZING...

Re: Optimal Off Grid Living Site

I'm listening to Live Chat Show 7 right now. You've covered a number of tyranny's of New York. Friend can't do anything on his property without local government nosing in. If you find some gold pebbles, they belong to the sate. Can't sell off land without putting in a taxable improvement asphalt lan...

Re: Suggestions and Ideas go here

A follow up video once a week or month showing how various projects over the last week or month are doing. Where is that do-dad you got in the mail installed, how is it doing, your experience with it and etc... A printed label on the things you have been given, particularly by commercial interests. ...

Squirrels Do Their Best Work On The Ground

When you going to put some legs on one of those skids and make an outdoor work table? It's causing me back pain watching you bent over like a Squirrel working in the dirt all the time. I'm a firm believe the good lord gave us all a finite number of bend overs. Don't use them up unnecessarily.
