solar kit questions
I have 2 deep cycle batteries for my boat that I need to recharge between days of fishing trips. I'm looking for some type of kit that I could start with that includes the charge controller that I could add more panels to at a later date. I'm limited on storage space as well, smaller panels would be...

Re: Looking for a circuit or kit
I'm looking to drive a 12volt fan. Rainbow makes a kit, I'm not sure how well they work.

Looking for a circuit or kit
Does anyone have a circuit they can share, or even better, a link to a kit for a thermostat control? I need a circuit that I can use to switch a fan on at about 80 degrees and stop when it falls below that threshold.

Re: Solar tracker?
I think the idea of solar panels on an overhang as you described is an even better idea. Especially since you can control the angle with actuators. Your home is positioned perfectly to get all of that sun on the front side. It also allows the use of heavy gauge wire at a much lower cost than running...

Re: New solar panel my first.. It does not indicate DC or AC
Solar panels put out a DC current. There are solar panels on the market that have DC to AC inverters built in.

Solar tracker?
Just curious if you have ever considered a solar tracking setup where your panels could be mounted on a post? I have seen circuits using a small 12 volt actuator rather than a motor to turn the panels. I know you have shaded areas to contend with. It may be hard to build such a setup without access ...

You can usually get help identifying a plant from a local nursery or a Cooperative Extension Office.

"Soil" question
The city I live in offers free compost. The compost is made up from collected lawn scraps, tree trimmings, and is "seasoned" for some time. It is a very rich material that I wonder if potatoes or other vegetables would grow in by itself, or would it need to be mixed with soil? I was looking at using...

How much solar power required?
I am looking for an enclosed trailer to convert into a camper of sorts. My plan is to add a deep cycle battery for lights, radio, and other accessories. How much solar power would be required to adequately charge a 12 volt deep cycle(marine) battery during the daylight hours? I know it would depend ...

Re: Need Mice repelent ideas plz
There is a product called Mouse-Free that is said to be non-toxic. It is made to spray on the undercarriage of campers to keep mice out during storage. I would guess it's rather expensive and would only be good for an application where it is protected from being washed away by rain. http://www.mouse...
