Using Fruit Smoothies For Arthritis

We all know that arthritis can have a debilitating effect on you. It can literally keep you up at night and zap the energy out of you each and every day. That can leave you feeling exhausted and frustrated. It can even stop you from doing your favorite activities on a daily basis.

And although there are a number of ways for you to treat your arthritis, one of those ways you might not think about as much is that of using a smoothie.

I know, it's not the most common way for you to treat rheumatoid arthritis, but it has shown the ability to ease the pain.

Now before I give you the smoothie recipe, here are some other things you can take a look at as well that can be of help.

Take a look at your diet.

If your regular eating pattern consists of a lot of inflammatory foods then you are only giving yourself multiple ways to aggravate your system.

You will need to add anti-inflammatory foods to your daily meals. These would include foods like nuts, seeds, vegetables, grains etc.

The basic idea here is that you want to increase the amount of raw foods that you eat. With raw foods you'll stand less of a chance of aggravating and inflaming your system.

Increase your fatty acid intake

One of the simplest ways to increase you fatty acid intake is by taking a supplement. Omega 3 fatty acids have shown that they can help relieve your pain and some of the stiffness... and in some cases it even reversed cartilage damage that was caused by arthritis.

You can find Omega 3's in cod liver oil as well as fish oil. Just make sure that when you take these items that you follow the suggested dosages and consult your doctor as needed.

Toss some ginger into your diet.

In just a few seconds I'm going to give you a smoothie recipe for treating your arthritis. But maybe you might not like to drink smoothies. If that's the case you can have a cup of tea with ginger in it either once or twice a day. The warmth of the tea can help get rid of the pain. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory which can give you much needed help with dealing with the pain and the other symptoms.

To make the ginger tea, simply drop one or two slices into hot water and stir it for about 10 minutes. You can use lemon or honey to sweeten for taste.

The smoothie recipe that will treat your rheumatoid arthritis

Okay so we've made it to the part you were patiently waiting for. In a blender combine 2 bananas, a cup of blueberries, some mango or another fruit of your choice, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, and a leaf of kale.

This will give you a smoothie that is packed full of nutrients and contains not only antioxidants, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties as well. You can use this recipe and create different versions of it just by mixing up the fruits that you use.

If when you first wake up you begin to feel like it's going to be a bad day for your arthritis, then make sure you replace your breakfast with a smoothie.
